Edward I. Biskind, Chairman and CEO
In 1980, Mr. Biskind, his family and a consortium of Dutch pension funds consolidated their interests in a $36,000,000 mixed use development in the Midwest. Through aggressive expansion and value added measures, when Mr. Biskind liquidated his interests seven years later the portfolio had grown to over 2,000,000 square feet at a value of $175,000,000 and included a super-regional mall, strip centers, office buildings and hotels. Subsequently Mr. Biskind founded InterCapital Partners, LLC. to respond opportunistically to the changing real estate climate.
During the 1990’s he moved to Houston, Texas where he amassed a portfolio of approximately 10,000 apartments through acquisition and development at a cost of $208,000,000. That portfolio is currently valued at $285,000,000.
In 1999, Mr. Biskind moved the company to Chicago, Illinois, to focus efforts in the Midwest, Northeast and Far West. He reassembled his team of professionals and has since developed trophy projects in Chicago and Boston, including the Belvedere, the premier luxury address in Boston’s Back Bay.
Originally from Shaker Heights, Ohio, Mr. Biskind is a third generation real estate professional. Mr. Biskind was graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a Liberal Arts degree and holds an advanced degree from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
